News and updates

Asphalt work has been completed along our main roadway and road shoulders are grassed.  There are approximately 2.4 miles of established roadways within the farm.

We are now moving on to the main entrance on Floyd road. Over the next several months we will have constructed stained board fencing along Floyd road and on both sides of our entrance. Final landscaping and planting will occur in early spring.

Additional acquisitions have been made leading to the demolition of unsightly structures near the equestrian section.. Gates and cross fencing have been added along perimeter rights-of-way to further insure our privacy.

  • Water lines have been installed and fire protection is provided.
  • Duke Energy has installed underground power to the driveway entrance at each site.
  • AT & T has installed underground cable to serve each site.
  • Our main security gate at Floyd Road is operational and the community is now closed to visitors without appointment. The gate system is extremely sophisticated with cameras that allow you to actually see your visitor before opening the gate from your residence. There is a single entrance on Floyd Road circling to a double exit. The old Floyd Cabin Road is now our service entrance.
  • Permanent pastures are planted on the equestrian sites. Preliminary grooming was done with a soil conditioner leaving an appearence that will serve equally as well for a fine lawn or pasture. The new pastures are in excellent shape and are ready for grazing.
  • Approximately 3.3 miles of walking and riding trails have now been roughed in and additional ones are planned. Our trail system is both scenic and challenging as it meanders along pristine creeks and beaver ponds.
  • Final surveying and site lay-out has been completed. Recommended home-site locations have been established and are clearly marked. Our original plan was developed from topography maps and on-site evaluation. It was important to not have more homes than quality home-sites. Equally important in our plan is to insure that our residents never experience a "crowded in" feeling. Keeping the average distance between homes at more than 300 feet will provide plenty of privacy. When inspecting one of our tracts, the optimum site for a residence will be marked with an iron pin along with a white post. This also makes it easy to locate where neighboring homes will be constructed..
  • Deer, ducks and turkeys are plentiful. In keeping with our plans to maintain a quality wildlife habitat, we have recently added a number of wildlife feeders.
